Writing Petitions

A petition is a document signed by a group of people that is presented to an authority or public official with a request for action to be taken on a particular issue. Petitions can be used to request changes to laws, policies, or practices, to draw attention to a cause, or to express a collective opinion on any issue.

In the spiritual realm, A petition is a spell or ritual that involves writing or speaking a request or plea to a higher power such as a god, spirit, or deity.

The purpose of a petition is to ask for help in achieving a certain goal or to gain insight into a problem. Petitions can be used for a variety of purposes, from seeking protection from harm to asking for guidance and advice.

There are many reasons why someone might choose to write a petition. They can be used for a variety of purposes such as protection, healing, manifestation, and transformation. Protection spells can help ward off negative energy and repel unwanted influences. Healing spells can be used to restore physical, mental, and spiritual health. Manifestation spells can help manifest your desired outcomes, such as money, luck, and relationships. Transformation spells can help you to make changes in your life, such as breaking bad habits or improving your confidence. The possibilities are truly endless!

A petition is often used as a part of a ritual, but are powerful enough to be used as a stand alone setting of intention. You can write a petition and place it under your pillow until it comes into fruition, or on your altar.. you can put it inside of a spell jar, or shred it and use it in a candle magic dressing! You have full creative control of how to use your petition.

As a general guide though, if you are manifesting something, keep your petition on your persons, in or near your home. But if you are banishing something you’d want to ensure the petition is discard of far away from your home. A cross road is a good place to discard of anything you want to be released.

It’s important to write your petitions in pen rather than pencil as the ink is more permanent than lead. Back in the day, “magic ink” was used, made from animals blood. You can still get “doves, bats & dragons Blood” from some metaphysical stores, however it isn’t real blood, it’s made with herbs and alcohol. Dove blood is generally for love, dragon for power and bat for dark magic. If you wanted to incorporate an added element into your petition you can locate some magic ink, or make some yourself, with you own blood you harvest from your menstrual cycle. BE CAREFUL if you choose to do this! AVOID using blood in any magic if other people are involved as energetic binding is very real and dangerous, so best to be avoided. Also discard of any remaining blood after your petition has been written.

Writing Your Petition

  1. Address it to the right person/people (who are you asking? Your ancestors? Spirit guides? The universe? A particular deity?) if you know their name, include it!

  2. Write what you want. Speak about it in the present tense! Show gratitude! Express how you will feel once completed.

  3. If you promise any offerings/sacrifices, follow up on it!

  4. Burn, bury, discard or keep your petition.

  5. Be confident, that it is done!
