My Spiritual Child

This morning I just knew that today would be a tough day..


I reluctantly got out of bed in survival mode. Trying to figure out why I felt so combative, I could hear my daughter

already whining & I just knew that whatever the day had in store.. a clingy toddler would make it 1000x worse so I smudged her, her brother, myself & the house and put some root chakra music on and began my daily routine.


2 hours later & she was still extremely clingy, she had spent the majority of the morning on my lap whilst I was working away on the laptop, trying to destroy everything on my desk and still on/off crying. I knew we wouldn’t make it through the day this way… I had to do something to make her feel better - and soon, I still had work to catch up on, not to mention laundry, cooking and cleaning the house!


At first I cuddled her and asked her why she was sad; to which she gave her favourite response the this question “I DON’T KNOWWWWWW” 😩😮‍💨. “Okay! What will make you feel better?” (Usually she will say a hug, or an activity that we can do together, but today she said)

“ICE-LOLLY!”

I told her no, (because of the time of day and my disdain for giving food in response to crying) and she had a full on meltdown!!!


My initial reaction was frustation, but I realised that my on edge feeling this morning was more than likely a prerequisite for this very situation and survival mode was fully activated.


I told her to take her time and choose a Crystal and meet me in my room. She chose her current favourite - Green Aventurine


When she came in I was sitting on the bed so that she would have the soft comfort of my mattress supporting her and asked her to sit in between my legs. I instantly heard her breathing become more steady and calm. I asked her, which Crystal she chose and told her that it was good for her heart. To bring luck and abundance and for her to repeat:

I AM ABUNDANT

I AM LOVE

I GIVE LOVE

I RECIEVE LOVE

I AM LUCKY

GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO ME

By the time she had finished the affirmations she was no longer crying. I began chanting LAM to help her feel safe and grounded and asked her to put her hand on my chest while I did so. Once her breath was completely back to normal I stopped chanting and within 5 minutes she had fallen asleep 🖤
