Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day in many cultures, and it has a long and interesting history. The origins of this superstition are unclear, but there are many theories about why people believe this day to be unlucky.

One theory suggests that Friday the 13th is related to the Last Supper, which was held on a Thursday. According to this theory, there were 13 people at the table, including Jesus and his 12 disciples. Judas, the disciple who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th person to arrive. As a result, it is believed that having 13 people at a table is unlucky.

Another theory suggests that Friday the 13th is related to the Knights Templar, a medieval Christian military order. On Friday the 13th, 1307, King Philip IV of France ordered the arrest and execution of the Knights Templar. This event has been linked to the superstition of Friday the 13th being an unlucky day.

In modern times, Friday the 13th is often associated with horror movies and superstitions. Many people believe that it is unlucky to do certain things on this day, such as starting a new project or traveling. Some people even believe that bad luck will follow them throughout the day.

In our patriarchal society Friday the 13th has long been associated with superstitions and myths. Of course the most popular belief is that the day is unlucky and can bring bad luck to those who believe in it. However, Friday the 13th is not unlucky at all, but rather the day of the Goddess.

The number 13 has been associated with the lunar calendar for centuries, with 13 being the number of full moons in a year. In many cultures, the moon is associated with femininity, as it represents the cycles of life (and the 13 menstrual cycles a woman has a year), death, rebirth, wisdom, intuition and emotions. Friday the 13th represents the power of the moon and the divine feminine.

Friday is governed by the planet Venus which is all about love, beauty, values and needs. So combined with the energies of the number 13 this is a powerful day to be harnessed, not to be afraid of. Honour yourself! Prioritise your needs and embrace your womanhood!

In some traditions, Friday the 13th is considered a powerful day for spellcasting and manifestation. It is believed that the energy of the day can be harnessed to bring about positive change and transformation in one's life. Many people use this day to meditate, perform rituals, or connect with their spirituality in a deeper way.
